About BEEC
The Building Energy Efficiency Calculator (BEEC) is designed to provide users with a preliminary rapid platform to assess a building's energy performance. The overall objective of BEEC is:
- Support rapid assessment of building energy performance
- Compare baseline performance with standards
- Recommend potential efficiency measures
This tool supports municipalities, energy managers, analysts, and technicians in understanding and improving building energy demand and performance.
Developed by Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (C2E2) under the Euroclima+ initiative.
Information Needed to Complete the Questionnaire
It's helpful to have the following information ready before starting:
Building Characteristics
- Total floor area
- Number of floors
- Year of construction
Occupancy Details
- Number of occupants
- Operational hours
HVAC Systems
- Heating type & efficiency
- AC performance & economizer control
- Ventilation and infiltration rates
- Indoor temperature settings
- VFD/Speed controllers on systems
Lighting & Equipment
- Type, quantity, and age of lighting fixtures
- Lumen output
- Plug load density from electronics
Building Envelope & Windows
- Insulation R-values
- SHGC and Window-to-Wall Ratio
Energy & Emissions
- Historical energy/fuel consumption
- Cost data
- CO₂ emission factors
